Myanmar weather in March in most parts of the country is still perfect for traveling which is why it is highly recommended to book in advance.
March in Myanmar is a month of transition from the cool to the hot season. From the beginning of March onwards, temperatures increase steadily.
Thus outdoor expeditions can be very uncomfortable, especially at archaeological sites such as Bagan. It's cooler around Inle Lake and Yangon. Ngapali Beach is still good for vacations. And it's still dry throughout the country.
Yangon – Hot and Dry
In March, the highest temperature in Yangon is 44°C (112°F), while the lowest is 24°C (76°F). The average temperatures for day and night are 42°C (107°F) and 27°C (80°F), respectively. It's dry, with total precipitation of 0.4 inches.
There are various religious festivals in March, such as the Shwedagon Pagoda Festival. Since 1988, this has been one of the largest religious gatherings in the world. You can gain some insight into Buddhist culture and local traditions by participating in this festival.
We recommend you to visit the National Museum with exhibits representing the arts, local culture and religious history. You can see many scriptures and relics there. A guide is highly recommended for visiting the museum.
Clothing: T-shirt and shorts for the day, pants and a thin coat for the cool evenings. Also bring sunglasses and a hat.
