After breakfast, drive out for about an hour southwest of Bangkok to Maeklong Railway Market, which is a traditional Thai market selling food, such as fresh fruit and vegetables. What makes it special is that the market is located on a train line where, a few times a day, the train runs directly through the market. Later, drive for another 20 minutes to visit Damnoen Saduak Floating Market, which is the most popular floating market in Thailand. It is great for photo opportunities, food, and giving you an insight into a bygone way of life. Have lunch in a local Thai restaurant.

Wat Phra That Doi Suthep is one of the most holy Buddhist sites in Thailand. Many Thai people go on a pilgrimage there, especially during the Buddhist holidays. Later, return to downtown Chiang Mai and visit Wat Chedi Luang. It is one of the six most important temples in Chiang Mai. It attracts a lot of Thai people to worship there each year as it was once the home of the Emerald Buddha.

In the afternoon, take a jungle trek by foot. Birds, such as the hornbill, live high up above the canopy, gibbons can often be heard calling to their mates, a macaque or a leaf monkey may be swinging through the branches, and beautiful butterflies flutter around.

If the weather permits, lunch will be served in the rain forest. It will be cooked in bamboo, which was an old tradition of jungle explorers from past centuries. Return to Elephant Hills and, after a refreshing shower, take a private transfer to the pier to catch a ferry to your next hotel in Koh Samui.
