As mentioned above the most popular times to visit Varanasi are from October to March. However, this can depend on your Varanasi trip purposes, budget, and weather preferences.
- For the perfect weather conditions, November to February are the best months to travel to Varanasi — (almost) rainless, clear, and cool to warm.
- October to March is the best period to photograph Varanasi as dry weather allows for nicer views.
- Festivals are the highlights of Indian life. If you want to experience some festival atmosphere, you should consider traveling during Holi (usually in March) or Diwali (in late October or November), which are the two grandest festivals in Varanasi and also in India.
- July to September (the rainy season) is the best time for low prices in general, when you should find the biggest discounts and more promotions on accommodation, flights, and tours.

Worst Times to Visit Varanasi
July and August see the heaviest rainfall in Varanasi. If you don't like the rain, you should avoid this period.
If you cannot stand the scorching heat, you'd better avoid April and May. The highest daily temperatures average 39 and 40°C (102 and 104°F) respectively. It can get even hotter in early June, but June is cooled by increasingly heavy rain later in the month.
However, some travelers choose to visit during these times, because there are fewer tourists and great discounts.
A staycation in a resort could be a good idea to reduce your inconvenience and discomfort from the heat or rain. Many resorts will have discounts in these months. You could enjoy the same quality service at a more affordable price (prices in low season can be half-price or 1½ times lower than in high season).

Bangkok and Chiang Mai
In Bangkok, our guide Ann and driver "Mr. Ot" (I don't know how to spell his name) were very friendly and professional. You simply can't underestimate the value of having an English speaking guide to show you around, and a driver with a comfortable, sizeable, air-conditioned van take you from place to place. Ann taught us so much about Thailand's history, food, and religion. Mr. Ot always opened our door with a smile, and had cool towels and ice-cold bottled water for us. More
